Denise Hector

Soprano

Biography

​Denise Hector, born in London, studied at the Royal Academy of Music followed by the National Opera Studio. During her time at the Academy, she participated in several Masterclasses with Janet Baker, Robert Tear, Joan Hammond and Shirley Verrett. She also took part and won several prizes for Lieder and Song including being a finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Competition in 1989. She joined the Glyndebourne chorus in 1986 taking part in Porgy & Bess, La Traviata and numerous other operas. She made her debut at Glyndebourne in Die Zauberflote as Second Lady and has since then performed a number of roles at various opera houses around the UK.
