Sheryl Malcolm
Project Manager, Community Choir
Sheryl has over 20 years experience of delivering and coordinating a variety of education and arts projects within statutory, community and voluntary settings across London. She has worked as a Participation Manager, Freelance Theatre Director, Facilitator and Lecturer.
Sheryl’s had the benefit of working with diverse communities across the city, delivering projects within arts organisations, theatres, schools and universities. She thrives on working in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that the creative process takes place, so that participants can wholly engage, enjoy and transform.
Kim Morgan
Press & Marketing Consultant
Kim Morgan began her career working for a myriad of cultural arts organizations including Graeae Theatre Company, Warehouse Theatre and Head of Communications at Theatre Royal Stratford East.
In 2001 Kim formed Kim Morgan Press and Marketing working on UK tours, West End shows and fringe arts organization’s including Oval House Theatre (Now Brixton House), Hoxton Hall, National Theatre and West End shows like Tina Turner, the Musical and Death of a Salesman among many others.
Kim is an Award-winning Arts Marketing Consultant winning Best Audience Developer Fringe award for 2008. Kim represents an extensive and diverse range of clients in theatre, film, dance and music. She also takes a pro-active mentoring role within Arts PR and is regularly asked to do talks and seminars on marketing to new audiences and how to make the arts more accessible.

Alison Buchanan
Artistic Director
Alison Buchanan is the Artistic Director of Pegasus Opera Company and is the only Black British female Artistic Director of an opera company in the UK. Alison leads on the strategic vision and programming for Pegasus Opera Company.
Alison is an Internationally renowned Soprano who has performed extensively around the world collaborating with a host of distinguished musicians and artistes, such as Andre Previn. Dame Joan Sutherland. Placido Domingo, Franco Zeffirelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Marilyn Horne, Sir Colin Davis. Sir Simon Rattle, Sir. Willard White, Jane Clover, Martina Arroyo, Regina Crespin and Anna Moffo to name but a few.
Prior to her post as the Artistic Director, Alison was the Assistant Artistic Director for Pegasus Opera Company since its inception in 1992 with long time friend and founding Artistic Director, Lloyd Newton.
Sonia Hyams
Executive Director
Sonia Hyams has worked in theatre and opera for more than 20 years and is part of the senior management team that leads the day-to-day activities of Pegasus Opera Company.
Sonia has substantial expertise in fundraising, project management and partnership building. She has previously worked for Royal Shakespeare Company, Unicorn Theatre and The Old Vic leading education and outreach work across a diverse range of formal and informal settings, delivering INSET training for teachers and senior leaders and devising and delivering corporate training packages for businesses.
Jordan Mullineaux FRSA
Producer
Jordan Mullineaux is the Producer at Pegasus and leads on the producing of Pegasus productions, concerts and events and relationship building with potential partners and collaborators. In addition, Jordan manages the Pegasus Agency, championing our diverse emerging and established talent, a scheme launching in October 2020 under Arts Council England’s Elevate Funding.
Jordan is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. In the official language of the Fellowship Charter, the award recognizes the contributions of exceptional individuals from across the world who have made significant contributions relating to the arts. He has experience hosting events and theatrical experiences with organisations that Include Kensington Palace, DV8, Complicite, KTM Arts, Ovalhouse, War Child, Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and the Barbican.

Nicholas Boyd-Vaughan
Chair
Nicholas trained as a singer, before forging a career in arts management. He began his career in communications at the Royal Opera House before moving to St Martin-in-the-Fields, where he directed its renowned Lunchtime Concert Series and created the Embassy and Cultural Institute Series. Passionate about supporting musicians and promoting classical music and opera to new audiences, Nicholas was Head of Communications for the National Opera Studio and currently holds the position of Senior Digital & Marketing Manager at the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
Alongside his principal professional commitments, Nicholas is a visiting lecturer for Middlesex University, and has led workshops in personal branding, social media and media skills for singers internationally. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, the Arts Marketing Association and the Association of Chairs.
Nicholas joined Pegasus Opera Company in 2019 and in 2020 was elected as Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Melvin Claridge
Vice-Chair
Melvin's varied career path (from diplomat to opera singer, banker and psychotherapist) has a broad sweep as well as common themes, which include concern for others and a desire to make a practical difference. Prior to and while studying law, Melvin ran a psychotherapy practice, providing private trauma psychotherapy to individuals, couples and organisations. In addition to serving as a trustee of Pegasus Opera, he also serves on the development committee at OperaUpClose, and works as a solicitor. Melvin's interests in legal practice include tax, contracts, art law, and cultural property law.
At Pegasus, Melvin is Vice-Chair of the Board and sits on the HR and Remunerations Committee (HRC), Artistic Advisory Panel (AAP), Pegasus Agency Advisory Panel (PAAP), and chairs the Development Advisory Panel (DAP).
Lascelles Haughton
With over 30 years of experience in the music industry Lascelles Haughton is one of the UK’s leading Gospel choir directors, a vocal coach and musical arranger. Lascelles has worked with numerous artists including the late Jesse Norman, Elton John, Celine Dion, Modanna and Kirk Franklin.
Lascelles has directed and participated in a number of Gospel choirs: namely London Gospel Community Choir, Power House, Visual Ministries, Choir, New Vision and the award winning London Fellowship Choir. Lascelles also managed a vocal group called Nu4M, who have featured on TV, Radio and numerous stages around the world.
Lascelles has a background in Education, where he has served as a teacher, progressing to Headteacher in a number of schools across London for over 30 years and has been inspecting schools since 2013.
Lascelles has a passion for music that is undeniable and he is committed to sharing his wealth of experience, knowledge and passion with the younger generation so that they don’t miss out on the rich opportunities that the music industry can provide.
Lascelles currently serves as the Chair of the Education and Outreach Advisory Committee for Pegasus and is responsible for overseeing all educational and community projects.
Richard Slack
Treasurer
I bring to the board many years of experience in accounting and financial management largely in the voluntary and cultural sectors.
Until June 2019 I was the Finance and operations Manager at the National Opera Studio. Opera and Music Drama have always been major passions of mine and I believe the challenge of diversifying opera’s performers, content and structure is exiting and challenging.
I will work on a sub-committee to deal with finance and other related matters.

Sarah Sawyerr
Sarah worked for a number of arts organisations including Talawa Theatre Company and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra before moving into the charity sector where she led on the Daffodil Campaign for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Sarah then moved into education completing a PGCE in drama at Goldsmiths and a Masters in Drama in Education at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
Sarah retired as an Assistant Headteacher in summer 2019 and began travelling until her travels were cut short due to the pandemic. She continues to teach ESOL at a local refugee centre and tutor students who have missed education due to school closures this year. She believes that education can change lives and the power of the arts can transform lives. Sarah is a member of the Pegasus Education and Outreach Advisory Committee.
Maggie Scarlett
My name is Maggie Scarlett; my late grandmother and father were singers with my youngest sister being an opera singer and professor of music.
Me? Along with many other people on the planet; I just LOVE music, of all genres.
So, I bow to my colleagues who are talented and skilled as performers!
Using my 40 years plus experience I Chair the HR sub committee.
